The corten steel and anodized aluminum structure create a room for a table and two chairs

Jaffa Gate Olive Grove Memorial

An installation for Jaffa Gate, one of the gates along the ancient city wall which separates Jerusalem’s old city from the new. For Israel the olive tree is a symbol of peace. However, as the site for the installation was a plaza on an overpass, and as the installation was to be a temporary structure, the olive grove was conceived as an entirely man made structure. The Corten Steel and and anodized aluminum structure create a room with a table and two chairs, a symbol for nations sitting down under the grove of peace.
